Shaggy says dancehall is in a crisis

In an interview with a British online newspaper, Shaggy indicated that he wants to see the culture move forward. He further stated that at the moment, that isn’t happening, and he says check the numbers. While dancehall may seem to have more stars and global acceptance, the Diamond selling musician explains that folks shouldn’t get caught up in the smoke and mirrors of baseless success.
As he put it, ‘some artists have more people following them on social media than they have streaming numbers.’
