Louie Culture was born on May 5, 1960, in Portland, Jamaica, West Indies. Culture began his career in the dancehall while still at school. He was influenced by the DJs of the early 80s, such as Nicodemus and Bobby Culture it was the latter Bobby Culture who inspired him.
