Shaggy and Sean Paul New Zealand’s Tauranga Festival

Promoters have revealed the highly anticipated star-studded line-up, which includes distinguished dancehall big shot Sean Paul and Grammy-winning reggae superstar Shaggy as headliners.

Beloved Kiwi act Nesian Mystik, whose hits include ‘Sun Goes Down’ and ‘Nesian 101’, will also be reforming for a special performance at the two-day event.

“We are very excited to bring one of our biggest lineups yet,” said promoter Pato Alvarez.

Reggae royalty Toots and the Maytals, renowned Californian reggae group Common Kings, Collie Buddz and Jamaiican acts Etana and Third World are all confirmed.

Local legends Katchafire, Sons of Zion and L.A.B will also take the stage.

FIJI, Israel Starr, Josh Wawa, Spawnbreezie, Mike Love, 1814, Ardijah, Latasha Lee, Ria Hall, Conkarah, Lion Rezz, FIA, Jaro Local, Victor J Sefo and DJ’s Jayraski and Hemz complete the first line-up announcement.

Alvarez recommends Sean and Saggy supporters to get in quickly: “The hype is so big; we are expecting to sell out faster than previous years.”

Earlybird tickets go on sale Wednesday, 3 July for $169. VIP will go on sale for $255, and GA general release will retail for $179.

The previous four years of the festival have all sold out.

The festival will kick off over Auckland Anniversary Weekend on January 25 and 26, 2020, in its long-standing home at the Tauranga Domain.
