Listening to the interview yesterday morning on Hot 97 the host Ebro Darden was eager to find out how the dancehall artist and hip hop artist Drake initially connected. Hot 97 got even hotter when the topic was centered on Popcaan’s relationship with his rival Mavado. It was here Popcaan said, “Mavado is …… him irrelevant, him need to make ah album. That’s my words to Mavado, I dare you to make an album, bro.” Even though this was a bold public statement Popcaan did take the high road revealing that he would be open to putting whatever differences aside to collaborate for the betterment of the culture.
