EVEE Hope is on a mission to eradicate poverty and oppression from Jamaica’s inner-city communities.
The gospel singer/musician is originally from Westmoreland but grew up in Flower Hill, Montego Bay. She migrated to the United States 30 years ago.
Hope is working on her debut album, Songs of Hope. The first single is expected to be Rise Up Children.
“The album is coming together very nicely. So far, I have recorded some wonderful songs and I am looking forward to releasing the first single very soon,” she said.
Five years ago when Hope visited Flower Hill, she was inspired to establish the Jamaica Ambassador Programme, a non-profit organisation in New Jersey. Through it, she promotes education as the driving force to eradicate poverty from inner-city communities including Flower Hill.
“Since 2010, we have helped over 300 children annually by providing them with school supplies and other educational services,” she said.
